This, by far, I think has the cutest story. The beautiful partner I have in my life right now was going through a tough time when she was a wee thing at 17. Friends were beginning to grow apart, family wasn't there and her best friend was moving away to school. One night she told me, through a waterfall of tears, that she had lost her happy place and that her happy place didn't seem to care for her much because it was being rude and hadn't so much as sent her a postcard. I decided to fix that.
I went out on her patio and drew a dragon wrapping his arms/wings around a teddy bear. Ever since I was 8 or so, I've been drawing him. The dragon always made feel a bit better after waking from a spell of nightmares (I still have nasty nightmares, although not as bad as when I was younger). The dragon. Holding a teddy bear. BIG strong beast, that still needs comfort. With the amazing help of a very competent and talented individual (who resides a the top of the treacherous Tibetan alps and through years of martial arts training has mastered the mystic arts of graphic design) who saw my intent was just and with great cunning took my artwork and created a postcard for me. With this done, I wrote an up lifting note and signed - from your happy place.
